- Make sure the spring is placed with the thinner loops at the end on the body of the latch and not facing the end of the sleeve.
- Tighten the set screw on the knob side, against the spindle on the flat surface of that spindle, avoiding the area of the threading.
- Do the same on the lever side, making sure on both sides the set screw is on the flat surface area of the spindle, not touching the thread.
- Do not overtighten the set screws or the knob / lever against the scutcheons until everything is in place.
- The natural movement of the handles on both sides is just 1/4" to 1/3" to move the latch. Do not over turn.
