If you are one of the 3 million visitors coming to Glacier National Park this summer, a quick stop in Polebridge, MT is a must. This small community is within a mile of the Northwest entrance to the park, and the Polebridge Mercantile is at the nucleus of the iconic Montana town. Built in 1914, the Polebridge Mercantile or “Merc” is famous for its bakery consisting of cookies, cinnamon rolls, macaroons, and especially the legendary huckleberry bear claw.

While the pastries and breathtaking views are what draw many to the Merc, we are humbled as a business to play the role of creating the screen door that opens and closes hundreds of times each day.
