Montana Screen Door at the World Famous Polebridge Mercantile
If you are one of the 3 million visitors coming to Glacier National Park this summer, a quick stop in Polebridge, MT is a must. This small community is within a mile of the Northwest entrance to the park, and the Polebridge Mercantile is at the nucleus of the iconic Montana town. Built in 1914, the Polebridge Mercantile or “Merc” is famous for its bakery consisting of cookies, cinnamon rolls, macaroons, and especially the legendary huckleberry bear claw.
While the pastries and breathtaking views are what draw many to the Merc, we are humbled as a business to play the role of creating the screen door that opens and closes hundreds of times each day. The Premium Series Wolf screen door has adorned the Merc for years and we couldn’t be happier to see one of our products on a Montana institution; but the screen doors don’t stop here! Just up the road a mere 100 feet lies the Northern Lights Saloon and Café. This early 1900s cabin-turned-saloon has great food, cold drinks, live music, and the one-of-a-kind Unique Forest screen door.
While Montana is known for its record snowfalls and cold temperatures, the summers are warm and the sun shines late into the summer night. Having a screen door allows these businesses to bring airflow into their buildings and keep temperatures comfortable. Next time you’re in Northwestern Montana, be sure to visit these great businesses for a huckleberry bear claw and a cold drink!
