Shipping FedEx
Your order will be shipped via FedEx if:
• Your door is smaller or equivalent to 36” x 84”
• You are ordering hardware
If you order both a door and hardware, they will be shipped separately. All FedEx packages are insured for the cost of the item and include a tracking number so you can keep an eye on your order every step of the way! If you would like to know how much shipping will cost before you get to the checkout page, please add your desired item(s) to the cart, click "View Cart," then hit "Calculate Shipping" after entering your State and ZIP Code.
Shipping Motor Freight
Your order will be shipped via Motor Freight (LTL) if:
• Your door is larger than 36" x 84"
• Your order contains multiple doors
If you would like to select Motor Freight (LTL) on smaller doors, just give us a call and we'll give you a quote. It is important to know that Motor Freight requires a signature for delivery and they will often call in advance to schedule a time to deliver. Keep in mind that the date given on the carrier's website is an estimation and not a guarantee of the date of delivery. Deliveries are scheduled Monday through Friday (excluding holidays) and buyers will be notified once we know of a specific delivery date. Motor Freight packages are delivered to the front of the building. Buyers do have the option to select a terminal pickup or inside delivery (at an extra fee) for your convenience. For particularly heavy packages, the drivers may ask for your assistance in getting the package off the truck. We recommend having some help available when your order is delivered. There is also a lift-gate assistance option for an additional charge that would be added to the order total. Shipments are insured and a tracking number is included with all Motor Freight shipments.
Note: Should you choose to select terminal pickup, keep in mind that most motor carriers require that you take delivery of the order within 48 hours (2 business days) from the date it arrives at their local terminal. Holding deliveries beyond 48 hours may result in the carrier charging you for storage. These charges are set by the carrier and are the buyers responsibility to pay should a storage fee be issued.
Receiving Your Door
The moment you’ve been waiting for is now here! Your door has traveled all the way from Dubuque, Iowa and is now at your doorstep. We are so excited for you to finish it, install it, and enjoy it each and every day! To ensure your door has made the trip safely and intact, please read the following notes below.
Inspecting Your Door:
Once your order has been delivered, please thoroughly inspect the package for any noticeable damage. If you notice any dings, dents, or rips in the packaging, please take pictures. Remove the door from the packaging and thoroughly inspect it for any noticeable damage. In the event that your door was damaged during shipping, please contact us within 3 days of receipt and send us any pictures of the damage and retain all packaging.
Note: For Motor Freight deliveries, DO NOT sign the Bill of Lading until the packaging and the door itself have been inspected. Damage MUST be noted on the Bill of Lading (BOL) and any damage claims must be placed within 24 hours of receiving the door. If you are not given the opportunity to inspect, write clearly on the BOL "accepted without inspection." Photo documentation of the damage is required by the carrier. We will not accept damaged doors that have already been installed.
Once you've checked over everything, you're ready to add your own personal touches! Please refer to our Finishing Your Door guide for more details.
